Kenya’s Coastal Counties Mombasa and Kilifi to Headline at Global Water Summit in Paris France

After having a successful Working tour to Spain,the Governor of Coastal City of Mombasa,H.E Ali Hassan Joho and his Kilifi County counterpart H.E Jeffa Kingi are in Paris France attending the Global Water Summit,where H.E Hassan Joho  expected to give a Keynote address,later in the week.

In Spain Governor Ali Hassan Joho held a fruitful discussion by Secretary of State of Spain Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Environment Ms. Maria Garcia and the Director General for Water Mrs. Liana in Madrid.The Governor and his hosts had focused discussion on the Desalination of water in Mombasa,of which Spanish firm won the tender late last year. Spain is one of the leading Countries globally with sustainable desalination technologies.

According to the Global Water Summit,they’ve always stated that they’re all about connections: water meets money, public meets private, business meets opportunity,this year they say they will focus on how cross-cutting issues emerging from the boundaries of the sector may drive performance and generate new opportunities for businesses who are ready to build and engage with the new models and stakeholders

Mombasa County Executive Member in charge of Water and Natural Resources Fatma Awale represented the County Government at the Summit on Monday.She was nominated to speak on the desalination project as a solution to averting the Water shortage in Mombasa before Joho arrived.
