Kenyans Urged to Embrace E-Mobility

By: Thomas Ochieng EAT Reporter: As a Precursor of the 4th Annual Kenya Power E-Mobility Conference and Expo that Kicks off on 4th to 5th June 2026 at the Kenyatta International Conference Center KICC, Kenya Power E-Mobility Champion Dr. John Ngeno the Director of Supply Chain Management and Logistics at Kenya Power and Lightining Company kplc, encouraged Kenyans to embrace E-Mobility which is cost effective and environmentally friendly.

Dr Ngeno spoke when he received the KPLC Electric Vehicles EV Caravan which had traversed the entire Nairobi County covering 43-kilometre convoy across Nairobi that showcased the diversity and growing adoption of electric mobility in Kenya.

The Power Utility Company has been undertaking around the country’s main transport corridors including the Nairobi-Mombasa-Nairobi route and Nairobi-Kisumu-Eldoret-Nairobi corridor.

The convoy today featured electric buses, tuk-tuks, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles and passenger vehicles, demonstrating the expanding range of clean transport solutions now available in the country.

The parade route covered KICC, Waiyaki Way, James Gichuru, Olenguruone Road, Lang’ata Road, Raila Odinga Way, Arwings Kodhek, Lusaka Road, Jogoo Road, Outer Ring Road, Thika Road, Forest Road, Museum Hill, Uhuru Highway, City Hall Way and back to KICC.

Dr Ngeno said that “Kenya Power extends its sincere appreciation to all e-mobility partners, stakeholders, drivers and riders whose participation and support made the parades a success”.

The successful parades set the stage for the upcoming 4th Annual Kenya Power E-mobility Conference and Expo on 4th &5th June, 2026 which will bring together industry players to advance conversations on the future of electric mobility in Kenya
