In a bid to give back to the membership and the society, Kenya’s 3rd largest Sacco in Kenya, the Police Sacco has put up a magnificent Stadium in Nairobi City.
The Police Savings and Deposit taking, the Police Sacco has sponsored the construction of a State-of-the-Art Stadium in the bustling South of Nairobi to offer the Police Service a venue for sporting activities.
While giving opening address during the Presidential Launch Ceremony, the Police National DT Sacco National Chairman Mr. David Mategwa gave a rich historical background of where the Sacco came from through it’s 50 years of existence. “through painstakingly savings by the Police Service through the years which saw the Police save and get loans for the betterment of their welfare” Said Mategwa
The Chairman also thanked the President who was also the Chief Guest for gracing the unveiling of the Stadium and joining the Kenya National DT Police Sacco as they celebrate the 50 Years anniversary.
The Chief Guest, President William Ruto having been taken through the Sport Complex facility on arrival, commended the leadership of the Kenya National DT Police Sacco for the vision in putting up the sports complex.
“The Kenya Police Service has stood the tallest in sports particularly the Athletics discipline which has brought glory and pride to Kenya for decades which has made Athletics synonymous with the Kenya Police service” Said President Ruto.
The President in light of this undertaking by Police Sacco directed the Ministry of Sports to avail Ksh. 150 Million towards the upgrading the stadium to include other facilities such as having terraces and other facilities which was much required.
“With an Asset base of Ksh. 47 Billion and a Loan portfolio of 40 Billion with and impressive total deposits of Ksh. 28 Billion making this one of the greatest economic enabler to our economy is something to be proud of the Kenya National DT Police Sacco as Kenyans” Said President Ruto.
The Launched Police Sacco Stadium has a full functioning standard Athletics Track, a VIP Podium and adequate changing rooms.
