PG Bison Launches Modern Multi Million Manufacturing Plant in Nairobi Industrial Area.

A leading timber furniture manufacturer in East Africa PG Bison has launched a new multi-million modern plant that will create a more productive manufacturing plant.

A journey which began in 2002 as an SME offering medium density fiberboard (MDF), particleboard and furniture fittings for the Kenyan market.

Speaking during the opening of the new modern plant, Kenya Manufacturers Association Chairman Sachen Gudka welcomed the investment by PG Bison stating that as an association they will offer support to manufacturing initiatives that will particularly provide jobs for Kenyans and at the same time empower SMEs.

According to PG Bison Commercial Director Nishit Mediratta,the company boasts of a large-scale investments in high-tech equipment’s sourced from abroad, that guarantees high standards of finished products to the satisfaction of customers.PG Bison has invested heavily in upgrading the manufacturing plant that is geared to precision and accurately fitted furniture settings at the same time offering the staff opportunity to world-class training exposure” Said Nishit. Adding that many of the panels are ordered by artisans who work independently having been trained by PG Bison, who run their own SMEs.

As a company PG Bison has invested in training programs at its own cost which ensures that these channel partners provide the best quality furniture to the Kenyan market and the East Africa region.
Speaking during the launch the Managing Director Hitesh Mediretta says the company adheres to world class standards of conformity which has been recognized by the Kenya Revenue Authority.”PG Bison does large scale commercial forest farming on its 100,000 hectares in South Africa where they practice sustainable farming with community members around the forest, making it one of the greatest success stories in commercial forest farming” said Hitesh.

The managing director also said that although the raw material is sourced from the firm forest in South Africa,PG Bison operates in Kenya independently which is replicated in the employment structure which favors Kenyans before any foreigner can be employed. The company is also in the process of curriculum development initiative in collaboration with Kenya Industrial Training Authority NITA to have enhanced courses on carpentry in Kenya particularly when Kenya is gearing toward the Universal Housing Program, which the company says it fully supports
