Kenya and European Investment Bank Summit on Partnership Kicks Off in Nairobi

Speaking during the opening ceremony at Imara Ole Sereni,Nairobi the President of kenya H.E William Ruto Welcomed the partnership between Kenya and European Bank the Kenya European Union Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) Council to explore innovative ways to address current and emerging barriers to unlock the vast potential of Kenya-EU trade.
“On our part, we are implementing pro-trade policies with the goal of building a competitive, resilient economy, strengthening mutually beneficial partnerships, and fostering inclusive wealth creation and generating oportunities”Said President.
On her part the European Ambassador to Kenya Henriette Geiger said EU Continues to be kenyas first trade partner in exports ans today’s summit offers a scope for harnessing potential for creating jobs and growth in Kenya and a European Union particularly in SMEs and Fintechs both in E-commerce and ICT.
Among the Fintech Startups that headlined the high level Summit is Ridewaystore.com an innovative e-commerce platform dedicated to delivering high-quality electronics, mobile accessories, and smart gadgets at affordable prices across Kenya.

The Department of Trade kenya concluded the session with unveiling of kenya-EU EPA Council which brought toghther the cabinet Secretary Investments,Trade and Industry Lee Kinyanjui,Permanent Secretary Trade Regina Ombam where both parties restated their commitment in working together to achieve the full potential of EPA to support mutual economic growth,sustainable development and regional intergration.
