The new ‘Sherriff’ in Nairobi City Major General Badi has vowed to complete 24 new health facilities in Nairobi informal low income regions in the capital to decongest national and major county hospitals like Mama Lucy and Mbagathi.He said this while receiving Personal Protective Equipment from Equity Bank Foundation to help fight against Covid19 pandemic.
Speaking during the handover ceremony at Mama Lucy Hospital, Major General Badi called for closer Public Private Partnership in the fight against covid19 and the improvement of healthcare in Nairobi. “NMS thanks the efforts by Equity Bank in helping ease the burden of health facilities by providing essential equipments for the healthcare workers” Said Badi.
On his part Equity Bank CEO James Mwangi said during the presentation that the real story is not about the money put into the programme but collaboration.“We decided to rely on local manufacturers due to the uncertainty of the global supply chain and as a result the local capacity has shown great workmanship by producing standardized end products which can be accepted globally,” Mwangi said.
