Kenyatta International Convention Center ( KICC ),Nairobi is gearing up to host its largest annual event, the 21st edition of Buildexpo Africa to be held from May 3 to 5
The show catering to the construction industry is spread over the entire indoor and outdoor area of KICC with exhibitors participating from 40 countries.
According to the organizers, Buildexpo has grown in several aspects in 2018. The visitor registrations are much higher including top industry professionals such as builders, developers, architects, consultants, engineers, manufacturers, importers& distributors. The companies exhibiting will be showcasing their latest products in the construction, mining, lighting, wood and water industry. This comes at an appropriate time as we would like to put in our efforts towards achieving the President’s Big Four agenda especially in the areas of affordable housing and manufacturing.
Countries dominant this year are Germany, China, India and Italy with several leading international brands looking to build a solid foundation in the East African market. Metallurgica Abruzzese S.P.A. (Italy), Bauer MaschinenGmbh, MbkMaschinenbauGmbh(Germany), MasaGmbh (Germany) Everest Industries Limited (India), Jet Granito Pvt. Ltd (India), Roser Co., Ltd (Korea), Nordimpianti System Srl (Italy) are some of the market leaders in their respective industries.
Another 50 plus companies from Kenya include key players such as Apex Steel, Davis & Shirtliff, Elite Tools Ltd, Matrix Precast, Tononoka Steel, Hytek Hydraulics, Formscaff, Digital City.
This year, the event will be officially inaugurated on 3rd May 2018, by the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Co-operatives, Mr. Adan Mohamed, EGH.
The event will also feature awards in innovation that will be presented to the most innovative products at the expo. This will be judged by the organizers and supporting organizations such as the NCA, KNCCI, Town and County Planners Association of Kenya and the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development.
Over the years, the Buildexpo has grown to cater to the demands of not just the Kenyan market, but of the whole region of East Africa. It has been projected as the ideal forum for international companies to showcase their products and services to the huge market. Visitors from across East Africa, and surrounding regions are invited directly in collaboration with regional trade bodies in Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Uganda, Somalia, Mozambique and Congo.
Regional Marketing Director, Exposure Events & Publication, Duncan Njage, said that the importance given by the business community towards the event shows that they fully understand the importance and opportunities that are presented by the fair as well as the long term business relations it will create. “As the mediators of the economic development in East Africa, we are extremely excited that our business community and relevant stakeholders are now taking full advantage of such platforms created for their growth opportunities through their active participation,” he added.
