Kenya’s and East Africa Premier training institution that offers training in Rail transport has held a graduation of young Kenyans who are set to join various sectors, including engineering, business and maritime within the rail industry and beyond.
While officiating the graduation Ceremony of the 1,415 Graduates, the Principal Secretary for Transport, Mohamed Daghar praised the Railways Training Institute graduates for the academic achievements which are in line with the government of kenya Bottom up agenda of job creation.
“We are pleased to see that our institutions are increasingly embracing gender balance, with county governments playing an essential role in supporting women pursuing careers in transportation,” said PS Daghar.
The PS also emphasized the importance of fostering inclusivity and gender balance at RTI, noting the near-equal representation of male and female students in recent years.
Graduates from the Kenya Railways Training Institute are highly regarded with many being absorbed into government institutions and agencies, including Kenya Railways.
The institute offers courses focused on both the Narrow Gauge and Standard Gauge Railway systems, helping to sustain and expand Kenya’s railway infrastructure.
